I'm having some doubts about the standards on Artfire. No, it's not due to sales or lack thereof as I admit I haven't really been working on getting things into the shop, but I'm unsure about how carefully they monitor categories such as lampwork.

I may be closing down our Artfire shop, but won't decide for a month as I have to get it moving a bit first.  After that, then, who knows?

I think it would be worth it to ask them about it.  They seem to do well in answering questions.
I'm really loving the $7 a month in total fees....

True enough, the flat fee is very attractive. There's dross everywhere, I just wish Artfire was more accessible.  You can't read feedback or see what has been sold, so anyone could pad their sales with no way to show it's not happening.

I'll give it some thought this week.

No, the few things that I sold on Artfire took a little while for the payment to come on through, DB.  One of them was via check, the others... I dunno, it just took a while for them to pay.

I'm gonna let my status stay for a little while and see what happens; I was getting ready for this-here trip and let my listings languish for a while.

This brings up something that happened to me before in the past when customers had problems making a payment to PayPal.
Now, with the new Artfire Fusion I am concerned that this may become problematic again so I sent Artfire a message addressing this.

Here is what I wrote them today:
I have a concern regarding the ability of a customer to make a purchase,  I have had problems before in the past but the problem was fixed.

But, now with the new Artfire Fusion I wanted to check this again.

I tried to buy one of my own products to see if a payment could be made. I did log off before doing this...

The problems I observed were that the 'Remove from Cart' button and the 'Payment' buttons were not there (an X just appeared),
and another problem was that the total amount showed $0.00 instead of the cost of the product.

Is this in the process of being fixed?  Or do I need to do something to make it right?

Please advise.

I let everyone know when they respond.

Thnx for sharing that!

I came home tonight to a message from ArtFire letting me know that the person that just bought a $100 worth of glass from me is bouncing checks ... it was a warning to make sure I give her check a couple weeks to clear .... thats really great to know that they go that far to protect the artists out there ... I love me some ArtFire and I think they will grow into something special.

I haven't had any problems getting paid on Artfire yet.  I just need to get my butt in gear and get some more stuff listed.

Well, I got a response from Artfire saying that problems getting paid is not a problem at my studio. It turned out to be something regarding my browser not being enabled for scripts so I took care of that.

So, I logged off Artfire and bought something from my studio and everything is working okay.  My customers should not have any problems.

Artfire is really good about responding so quickly and fixing things. Thanks Artfire.  Smile

Diane, thanks for keeping us up to date on this potential problem and how they addressed it quickly to resolve the situation.  It's good to see they are on top of things. Smile

Did ArtFire ever say who it was that was bouncing checks?  I just had a customer who bought a bead, then never paid for it... or at least it never showed as being paid.  We emailed said buyer 3 times and never got a response.  I finally just said to hell with it and re-posted the bead. We still have never heard from her.
